1. Discovery & Requirements
Every successful project starts with a clear understanding of the goals. We work with you to define the functional requirements, environmental conditions, and target manufacturing costs. This creates a "Product Design Specification" (PDS) that serves as the roadmap for the entire project.
2. Concept Design
We generate 3D concepts to explore different approaches. This phase focuses on feasibility and form. We use quick CAD models and basic renderings to visualize solutions, allowing you to choose the best path forward before committing to detailed engineering.
3. Detailed Engineering
This is where the heavy lifting happens. We refine the chosen concept into a fully detailed 3D assembly. We add fasteners, select off-the-shelf components, and detail every custom part. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is often performed during this stage to verify structural integrity.
4. Prototyping & Validation
We produce prototypes to test form, fit, and function. Whether it's a 3D print to check ergonomics or a CNC-machined part for stress testing, this stage validates the design against the original requirements. We then iterate the digital model based on real-world findings.
5. Production Documentation
Once the design is finalized, we generate the 2D technical drawings and bills of materials needed for manufacturing. We ensure every drawing has the correct tolerancing (GD&T) to guarantee that the parts you order are the parts you get.
